Lipri Safaris: Car Hire and Safari Transport Booking Website
Overview
Lipri Safaris is a Nairobi car hire and road transport company based in Lavington, offering self-drive and chauffeur-driven saloons, SUVs, vans and 4x4s such as the Toyota Land Cruiser and Prado, plus JKIA airport pickups and long-distance safari transfers. Most of their customers are visitors planning a trip to Kenya from abroad, and almost every booking ends up happening on WhatsApp.
The Challenge
Lipri Safaris had a strong reputation (4.9 stars from 589+ Google reviews) but no website that turned that trust into bookings. Visitors needed to see the fleet, understand prices in a currency they recognise, check whether a car was free on their dates and reach the team quickly, often before they had even landed. The business also needed a way to manage vehicles, prices, trips and booking requests without touching code.
What I Built
1. A conversion-focused booking website
I designed and built a fast, modern site around one goal: getting visitors into a conversation with the team. Every vehicle and trip has its own "Book on WhatsApp" button that opens a pre-filled message naming the exact car or route, so the team knows what the customer wants from the first message. A floating WhatsApp button, click-to-call and a clear three-step "how it works" section remove any friction for first-time visitors.
2. Fleet, vehicle and trip pages
Each vehicle has a dedicated page with specifications (type, seats, gearbox, fuel), features, self-drive daily and weekly rates, chauffeur rates, guest reviews and live availability. A Popular Trips section packages long-distance routes such as Nairobi to Masai Mara, Mombasa, Amboseli and Naivasha, each with a suggested vehicle and starting price.
3. Online booking requests with live availability
Signed-in customers can request a booking directly from a vehicle page. The form includes an availability calendar that blocks dates when a car is booked or unavailable, Nairobi-time pickup and return slots, pickup location (JKIA, hotel or other), self-drive or chauffeur service, area of use, optional extras such as child seats, an additional driver and cool boxes, and promo codes. No payment is taken at this stage; the team confirms availability and the final price. Customers can also send the same details straight to WhatsApp in one tap.
4. Lipri Safaris AI assistant
Using the Laravel AI SDK, I built an on-site AI assistant that visitors can open from any page to ask questions about the fleet, prices, trips and how booking works, getting instant answers at any hour and being guided toward a booking or a WhatsApp conversation with the team.
5. Multi-currency pricing
Prices are set in USD and shown in Kenyan shillings, with a currency switcher so international visitors can see prices in the currency they think in. A dedicated pricing page compares every vehicle side by side across self-drive daily, weekly and chauffeur rates.
6. Customer accounts and admin management
I built customer accounts with sign-up and login so returning guests can make booking requests and leave reviews, and a management side where the business can add vehicles, set prices and availability, create trips, manage extras and promo codes, and handle incoming booking requests.
7. SEO and trust
Every page has search-friendly titles targeting high-intent searches such as "car hire Nairobi" and "Land Cruiser hire", alongside Google rating highlights, guest reviews, an FAQ, location details with Google Maps, and full terms, privacy and cancellation policy pages. The site supports light and dark mode and is fully responsive on mobile, where most travellers browse.
The Result
Lipri Safaris now has a professional online storefront that matches the quality of their service: visitors can browse the fleet, see clear prices in their own currency, get instant answers from the AI assistant, check availability and start a booking in seconds, while the team receives enquiries that already contain the vehicle, dates and pickup point. Booking requests stay on the channel the business already runs on, WhatsApp, so nothing about their day-to-day workflow had to change.
